Have you heard about the ‘Doodle4Google’ contest? It features students from kindergarten through 12th grade nationwide that have designed their own versions of the Google logo. Thousands of kids have entered the contest which is divided into ten regions of the country and four grade levels. The theme is “What If?” and students were asked to submit a paragraph with their illustration describing how their design fit the theme. Forty regional finalists have already been selected. Now it’s up to the public to vote for the winner! Voting is open through this Sunday, May 18th. On May 21st, four national finalists and the winner will be announced. The winning design will be displayed on the ‘Doodle4Google’ site May 22nd. Regional winners receive a laptop computer and a $10,000 scholarship. The school of the national winner receives a $25,000 technology grant from Google to buy new computers for the school.

Our favorite? We have a hometown fave, Callie Roberts. Her design titled, “What If There Were World Peace” is the one you see here. It’s creative and inspirational and current. She’s in the 7th to 9th grade level in Region 8. Only a few voting days are left! Click here and help us support Callie with a vote!
